Topsail High Students Earn National Merit Recognition

Hannah Boaz and Adam Crowell, Topsail High School students, were recognized during the October 1st meeting of the Pender County Board of Education.
Adam is a Semifinalist for the National Merit Scholarship. He is among 16,000 Semifinalists in the 58th National Merit Scholarship Program and is eligible to enter competition for a National Merit Scholarship next spring.
Hannah was named a Commended Student in the 2013 program. Approximately 34,000 Commended Students are recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
Nearly 1.5 million students in approximately 22,000 high schools enter thenational merit Scholarship competition annually when they take the PreliminarySAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
