Powerschool Update for Families
Powerschool Update for Families

Dear Pender County Schools’ families,

As you may be aware, the student information system across the state of North Carolina has changed this summer.  The state has transitioned from NCWise to PowerSchool.  PowerSchool is part of a larger system known as Home Base.  With any new change, especially one that involves technology, there is often a period of transition where the programmers work through issues that may arise.  While we believe that this system will be of great use in the future, we have been made aware of some issues related to student schedules.  You can read more about how the state is dealing with these issues in the following article: “Big test days away for N.C. schools’ computer system”

Therefore, we ask that you please be patient with us, our schools, and our principals as we work with the state to resolve the issues and make needed corrections.  You may learn more about the transition to Home Base and PowerSchool by visiting the following links: 1. Home Base 2. Power School
