Dear Parents and Interested Citizens:
The Pender County School District is pleased to share information concerning school and student performance, class sizes, attendance, school safety, school facilities, and staff through the North Carolina State Report Card. As required by state and federal guidelines, the Report Card is distributed to every student in our school district.
The school district serves approximately 8500 students in grades PK-12. Approximately 1200 staff members work cooperatively to promote student learning and success each grading period and each school year to assist students as they prepare for careers beyond high school. Our principals, teachers, and students remain focused despite the challenges of larger classes in some cases and fewer resources.
I encourage you to review the report card to learn about school and district performance. The report cards do not provide information about specific initiatives underway at each school. Our principals are the best resources for school-specific projects and programs currently underway and they can answer questions about information contained in their school’s report card.
Thank you for your interest in Pender County Schools.
Sincerely,
Dr. Terri R. Cobb
Superintendent
