Substitute Teacher Applicants
Your interest in possible employment as a Substitute Teacher with Pender County Schools is appreciated. Substitute teachers must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and have earned a high school diploma.

which will take you directly to NCDPI website. When you come to the NCDPI web page, please click on HOME to create an account to complete an online application. Please click on the link below to print required form.
1. Complete an Authority of Release of Information
2. Submit a copy of your high school or college transcript
3. Submit a copy of your teaching certificate, if applicable
4. Contact a principal to schedule a mutual, convenient, interview time that the
principal can orient you to school system policies and procedures
5. Submit attachments to the principal at the time of the interview.
The Director of Human Resources will review your application packet and approve or disapprove your selection to serve as a substitute teacher in the Pender County Schools. If approved, your name will be placed on the Approved Substitute List, which is distributed to all bookkeepers.
A certified substitute teacher's daily rate of pay is $91.00. Non-certified substitute teachers receive a daily rate of pay of $70.00. Substitute teachers are employed in full or half day increments.
