Pender County Employee Tuition Assistance Programs
Pender County Commissioners' Fund
Each year, The Pender County Board of Commissioners provides $10,000 to be used towards tuition costs for teachers teaching in the classroom pursuing a Masters Degree in Education.
The eligibility requirements for this money include ALL of the following:
The teacher must be pursuing a Masters
degree program to be utilized in the classroom setting
The degree must be in the field of education
The teacher must have successful completion
of the class
The teacher needs to have passed the Praxis
To apply the teacher should submit a letter of request to Pender County Schools, Human Resources, which should include:
• Amount requested for cost of class only (no books
or fees), along with a statement of any other
financial assistance that you have received from
other funding sources for the semester requested*
• Course description
• Degree sought
• Teacher contact information
• Plan of study from an Accredited Institution
Official transcript indicating the course was
passed for credit
Itemized tuition statement.
• Paid receipt
Requests for summer session I, II or fall semester are due December 31. Requests for spring semester are due June 13.
All services are contingent upon the availability of funding
